The Data Center (Cx) Project Manager will oversee and execute commissioning projects from pre-construction through completion, ensuring high-quality results. This role involves collaboration with internal and external project stakeholders, requiring technical expertise, leadership, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commissioning, project management, and MEP construction.

Focus:

  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Define commissioning scopes, develop project schedules, and prepare fee proposals.
  • Review project plans, scopes, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Work closely with project coordinators to maintain project deliverables and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams for project financials, including invoicing and accounts receivable.
  • Conduct commissioning design reviews, including Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), and submittals.
  • Perform site observations and provide detailed reports throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute commissioning test scripts, including Pre-Functional Checklists (PFC), Functional Performance Tests (FPT), and Integrated Systems Tests (IST).
  • Facilitate commissioning meetings, documenting action items and ensuring follow-through.
  • Manage project documentation and issue resolution to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Create commissioning reports and system manuals for project close-out.
  • Conduct warranty walkthroughs, seasonal testing, and necessary report updates.

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3+ years of experience in MEP construction, commissioning, or project management.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with a client-focused mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of energy codes and LEED commissioning requirements.
  • OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification (OSHA 30 preferred).
  • Experience with commissioning software such as Cx Alloy is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems is an advantage.
  • NFPA-70E certification required.
  • Project Management certification preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze project financials.
  • Field experience is highly desirable.
  • Must be willing and able to travel 50% of the time, both locally and nationally.
