Data Analyst

Our client in the Oil & Gas sector is seeking to onboard on a temporary contract a Data Analyst for a 6-month contract.

Salary range: $13,000.00 to $15,000.00

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets, developing data-driven insights, and creating visualizations to support production performance and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in data analysis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret complex datasets to support decision-making and drive operational improvements.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI and other tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights on production performance, cost analysis, and equipment efficiency.
• Utilize Python or similar programming languages to develop simple analytics solutions and automate workflows.
• Query and analyze data using SQL, ensuring accuracy and consistency across datasets.
• Communicate data-driven insights through clear reports, presentations, and visualizations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience.
• Power BI Data Analyst or Data Engineering certification will be considered an asset.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Visio.
• Expertise in Power BI for reporting and dashboard development, as well as data visualization.
• Strong programming skills in Python or a similar language.
• Experience with SQL for querying and managing datasets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
