Position Responsibilities:

The Customs Brokerage Entry Writer will be tasked with preparing, compiling and managing documents and records to clear goods through U.S. Customs. Responsibilities include checking documents for accuracy to ensure compliance with customs regulations and interfacing with customers on CBP, OGA delivery and irregularities.
Will track and trace shipments and coordinate with the steamship lines, freight forwarders and CFS on the availability of imported shipments and will arrange with trucking companies for pick-up and delivery.

Background Required:
  • Freight forwarding or third partly logistics (3+ years)
  • Experience and knowledge of US Customs and Harmonized Tariff Codes
  • Strong knowledge of customs compliance
  • Strong knowledge of ocean & air imports
  • Leadership skills
  • Communication with customer, agents, truckers via phone, email or reports
  • Knowledge of basic principles of accounting & finance
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Residence: commutable to Carson, CA
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Account management
  • Customs brokers license
  • Experience with Cargowise One
  • Bachelor’s degree: Supply chain, logistics or similar field
