Hire Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Customer Order Specialist for one of our clients in the foodservice distribution industry. This position is responsible for obtaining customer orders in a timely manner, meeting strict deadlines, and providing exceptional customer service throughout every interaction.

The ideal candidate is dependable, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and responsiveness are essential.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

A teammate in this position must have the ability to:

  • Secure manual food orders and/or process Sourcelink failed calls using JDE and PCM software.
  • Contact customers when automated orders are not received or cannot be secured.
  • Monitor and respond quickly to inbound calls, minimizing customer hold times.
  • Poll automated orders that did not secure during their initial system attempt.
  • Assist customers with issues related to the automated order-taking process, including modem resets or directing them to the appropriate Help Desk.
  • Stay knowledgeable about current promotions, product updates, and item number information to support customer inquiries.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Ensure deadlines for each Distribution Center are met and all customers receive appropriate attempts to secure their food orders.
  • Process automated orders with exceptions (i.e., those that will not post).
  • Provide phone support to customers and CSR teams regarding item numbers, order additions, or other customer issues.
  • Review unsecured orders before deadline and make a final attempt to secure manual orders.
  • Follow Distribution Center guidelines for the final processing of outstanding orders (duplicate, move to DC, or no order).
  • Ensure all orders are secured before end of shift—regardless of time.

Requirements

A teammate in this position must:

  • Have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successfully pass a physical capabilities test, drug screen, and criminal background check.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Have strong computer and ten-key skills.
  • Possess strong listening, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Have schedule flexibility to support business needs.
