Overview
Our client, a leading investment management firm specializing in middle-market direct lending and private credit, is seeking a talented Credit Associate to join its investment team in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact deals, contribute to investment decision-making, and gain exposure across the full investment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive financial analysis and credit underwriting for new investment opportunities across multiple industries.

Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate cash flow, capital structure, returns, and downside scenarios.

Draft detailed investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal investment committee discussions.

Support the due diligence process, including reviewing financial statements, industry research, management presentations, and third-party reports.

Assist in the structuring and negotiation of loan terms, including covenants, collateral, and intercreditor agreements.

Monitor portfolio investments, track key performance indicators, and proactively identify risks and potential issues.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk, and operations, to ensure efficient deal execution and ongoing portfolio oversight.
Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in credit analysis, investment banking, leveraged finance, or private credit.

Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of capital structures and credit risk.

Prior exposure to leveraged companies or private equity–backed businesses strongly preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear investment insights.

Highly motivated self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
