Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace Processing, New York has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Estimating / Accounting Administrator. The successful incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Cost Estimating/Quote system. This includes: Quoting, Estimating, Planning, Invoicing, Reporting Research Results, Strategic Planning and Requirements Analysis. The pay range is $20/hr to $24/hr.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist Sales Manager to ensure that all proposals/RFIs/Early Bid Warnings/Risk registers are submitted in a timely, professional manner
  • Prepare cost estimates / quote by analyzing proposals and requirements
  • Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
  • Prepare and sends invoices and statements to customers
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Generate and maintains cost and profitability data base by entering and backing up data
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Position Requirements

  • High School graduate, some college work or a college degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of working in an industrial environment.
  • Quoting and Estimating experience preferred
  • Willingness to continually develop skills through training and education
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in ERP system, Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point required to accomplish day-to-day work activities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications
