We are looking for a Cost Accountant to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in cost analysis, inventory, and operational finance. The Cost Accountant will play a key role in monitoring product costs, improving margins, and supporting business decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and maintain standard costs, variances, and cost structures
• Perform inventory accounting, including reconciliations and cycle count support
• Monitor and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and production costs
• Prepare and review monthly cost variance reports and provide insights
• Partner with operations and finance teams to improve cost efficiency and profitability
• Support budgeting and forecasting related to production and cost drivers
• Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Evaluate and improve cost accounting processes and controls
• Support audits related to inventory and cost accounting
• Assist with system implementations or enhancements related to costing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of cost accounting or related experience
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost analysis
• Strong understanding of standard costing and variance analysis
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate financial insights to cross-functional teams
