Job Description

We’re partnering with a well-established, privately held food and beverage manufacturer to help them hire a talented Cost Accountant. The company produces premium cocktail mixers, coffee syrups, sauces, and concentrates for major national brands.

This is an opportunity to step into a key role where your expertise in cost accounting directly fuels strategic business decisions. As our Cost Accountant, you’ll be the financial architect behind every product we make, with a front-row seat to operations, R&D, and production. This is your opportunity to shape the cost structure of a growing company and influence how we scale smarter.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and evolve our standard costing system—you’ll develop and maintain product costing, recipes/formulas, BOMs, and routings.

  • Partner with production and R&D to accurately cost new product development, including pilot and full production runs.

  • Analyze manufacturing variances (labor, material, and overhead) and collaborate with operations to drive cost reduction strategies.

  • Manage, update, and reconcile BOMs and routings in Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with operational changes.

  • Develop cost estimates for capital projects and new product launches, contributing to pricing strategy and margin analysis.

  • Support month-end close by preparing and analyzing cost roll-ups, inventory valuations, and absorption reporting.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives around cost visibility, product margin analytics, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Collaborate across departments to integrate financial rigor into the production and supply chain ecosystem.

What Sets You Apart

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CMA or CPA a plus.

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Expert-level experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP (Finance & Operations).

  • Hands-on experience with standard costing, including the development of recipes/formulas, production runs, and bill of materials (BOM).

  • Proven ability to communicate financial insights to both technical and non-technical teams.

  • Process-oriented thinker with a passion for digging into numbers and driving business improvement.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary

  • Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision)

  • A collaborative culture that values your input and expertise

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development

  • A company on the move, committed to innovation, quality, and excellence in manufacturing
