Cost Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join a dynamic and growing company in Nashua, New Hampshire. This fully on-site position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced accounting team within a collaborative and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities related to cost accounting
• Manage inventory transactions, reporting, and cycle count accuracy
• Analyze job and order costs to assess gross margin performance and identify variances
• Investigate cost trends and flag risks or opportunities impacting profitability
• Review and allocate indirect material and overhead costs appropriately
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
• tied to inventory, manufacturing costs, and revenue recognition
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
• Support annual budgeting and standard cost updates (labor and overhead)
• Partner with operations, production, and procurement to strengthen controls and processes
• Assist with audits, ad hoc analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of hands-on cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP or MRP system experience required
