Description

endevis is working with an excellent, rapidly-growing manufacturing company that is seeking a talented Cost Accountant to join their team. This is a highly autonomous role with a variety of responsibilities. Not only will you be managing the cost accounting function, but you will also wear many hats and assist the Director of Accounting with other general accounting duties. This is a high-growth company, and you will work to craft processes that can scale as the company expands its reach.

Responsibilities:

● Implement and maintain inventory cost controls and standard costing
● Perform data entry and reporting activities for cost accounting and 3-way match documentation using QuickBooks Enterprise
● Serve as point of contact for Supply Chain Payable inquiries
● Coordinate ​physical inventory counts​
● Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
● Validate ​the cost of goods sold​ on a monthly basis
● Formulate applicable Balance Sheet account reconciliations
● Track applicable fixed assets and maintain depreciation schedules
● Report on monthly variances and their causes
● Analyze production costs to advise findings and recommend changes
● Work actively with operating teams on constraint analyses
● Assist with ​capital budgeting​ requests
● Identify and implement software, systems and process improvements to automate accounting and inventory functions (e.g., a connector from inventory management to Quickbooks; a barcode system for real-time inventory tracking)
● Assist external auditors in reviewing processes and workflow by providing reports and supporting documentation
● Ensure company compliance with corporate and sales and use tax accounting
● Maintain GAAP compliance for all accounting work
● Report to the Director of Accounting and assist with other accounting activities as needed

Requirements:

● 3+ years of relevant work experience & bachelor’s degree
● Experience in manufacturing audits, accounting consulting, and/or in-house accounting
● Audit and use tax knowledge is preferred
● Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Quickbooks Enterprise and inventory management systems is a plus
● Entrepreneurial mindset; we are a lean company, and everyone wears many hats
● Able to work with large amounts of information without losing sight of the big picture
● A self-starter who can prioritize and manage multiple assignments and take initiative
● Collaborative and excited to work with many different teams across the company
