Job Title: Cost Accountant

Job Summary:

A detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant is needed to join a Finance team within a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a professional with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and prior cost accounting experience. The role supports the analysis of manufacturing costs, preparation of cost reports, budgeting, forecasting, and improvements in cost control processes. The role involves work within an existing ERP system and participation in a future ERP transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze cost data related to materials, labor, and overhead.

• Maintain cost accounting records and ensure accurate product costing.

• Support month-end close processes, including journal entries and variance analysis.

• Assist in inventory analysis and reconciliation, including cycle counts and physical inventories.

• Prepare and maintain standard costs and update bills of materials.

• Collaborate with operations and production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Assist in data migration and system transition efforts from legacy ERP to a new platform.

• Perform daily work order closing and related variance analysis.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost accounting.

• Exposure to a manufacturing environment is a plus.

• Understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience is preferred.

• Willingness to learn and adapt during an upcoming ERP transition.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
