Corporate Process Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Work on Seeq, CMS data collection and reporting software and artificial intelligence systems to create new analysis and templates.
    • Seeq and CMS are the current systems we utilize to allow the cement plants and Corporate Office personnel to access, compare, evaluate and assess data related to manufacturing Process, Quality, Maintenance and Environmental Compliance.
  • Monitor process parameter controls using Seeq and CMS trends to improve control methods and automation performance.
  • Improve the analytical and control capabilities of these systems to troubleshoot and maintain better control of equipment to support to our cement plants to maximize production rates and minimize fuel and power consumption.
  • Develop and implement system reporting standardization.
  • Provide technical engineering support in order to optimize and improve efficiency of the major process equipment through data analysis.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for both equipment and process, and benchmark this data to optimize cement manufacturing facilities and production systems.
  • Perform process audits at the plants, follow up with plant personnel to discuss actual versus budgeted equipment key performance indicators, and provide suggestions to improve operations.
  • Support the plants in maximizing the kiln’s refractory life and maintain the software utilized company-wide for tracking refractory life.
  • Analyze utilization and supply chain of alternative fuels and support process optimization to maximize usage and reduce carbon footprint.
  • Support the Senior Corporate Process Engineers and the rest of the team to achieve company initiatives and established goals.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, with emphasis in chemical engineering preferred
  • Up to 2 years experience in a manufacturing facility preferred, experience in heavy industry a plus
  • Strong analytical, multi-tasking and communications skills
  • Experience with data-based systems preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter and inquisitive by nature
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel, Access is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills a must
  • Requires ability to travel about 50% of the time, primarily to the Company’s facilities within the U.S. (This travel would be during the training period and travel would decrease once fully trained)
