Legal Assistant / Law Clerk – Corporate Law
Location: Ottawa, ON – onsite
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 based on experience

Our client, a well-established Ottawa law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Law Clerk with a background in corporate law to join their growing team. This is a career-oriented opportunity offering long-term growth, competitive compensation, and a supportive professional environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a busy corporate practice, handling corporate records, transaction support, and day-to-day administrative responsibilities with a high degree of independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file corporate documentation, including incorporations, amalgamations, and related corporate and commercial materials
- Organize and maintain corporate records, minute books, and corporate registers
- Assist with corporate reorganizations, mergers, and acquisitions, including document preparation and file organization
- Conduct corporate and PPSA searches and filings
- Provide comprehensive legal administrative support, including docketing, billing, scheduling, and deadline management
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, government offices, and internal team members
- Generate work-in-progress reports and assist with client accounts, billing, and follow-ups
- Support the practice as needed with additional administrative and legal tasks
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or certificate in Law Clerk, Legal Administration, or a related program
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a law firm supporting corporate law matters
- Strong understanding of corporate transactions, estate administration, and related procedures
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities
- Excellent organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence interacting with clients and professionals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Ghost Practice, Adobe Pro, DocuSign, OnCorp, and MinuteBox is an asset
