Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP Customs & Trade Compliance for one of the world's leading providers of integrated logistics services. Our client offers air, ocean and road freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution, and specialized services in project logistics, fairs and events, and chemicals.
The Corporate Customs Compliance Manager will ensure our client’s customs clearance function meets the highest standards of regulatory compliance and will serve as the customs corporate national permit qualifying license holder. Will establish risk management guidelines and programs to include assessment, audit methodology design, functions and practices and will exercise responsible supervision and control over the branch customs business according to 19 CFR regulations. Will execute strategy for product compliance and customer service and enforce adherence to company policies with particular attention to those of corporate compliance, legal services and customs services. The goal is to deliver operational excellence in the design and delivery of import customs clearance products and processes in accordance with government regulations, company standards and customer instructions.

Background Required:
  • Freight forwarding and/or Customs Brokerage industry experience (10 yrs)
  • Staff development and management (5 years)
  • Expert knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for transportation and customs brokerage services
  • Excellent knowledge of other government authorities (OGAs) including OFAC, TSA, ITAR, FDA & ISO9001
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Strong sales presentation & customer facing skills
  • Technology: expert knowledge and detailed understanding of software applications including data, visibility and reporting tools
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Residence: USA
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Customs brokerage (CHB) training program development
  • Advanced Degree –MBA
