Corporate Buyer
Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Corporate Buyer to support purchasing operations across multiple plant locations. This position is responsible for procuring raw materials, managing vendor contracts, and overseeing inventory programs related to operations, facilities, and safety. The Corporate Buyer plays a key role in vendor relations, cost control, and process efficiency, while also providing backup to other buyers and coordinating with R&D, quality, and ink departments.
Responsibilities:

Purchase raw materials, maintenance/repair parts, and supplies across multiple facilities

Manage supplier relationships and monitor lead times and production schedules

Maintain and analyze data in procurement databases; generate reports as needed

Oversee corporate contracts (e.g., copiers, air compressors, lawn maintenance, etc.)

Work closely with maintenance teams on service agreements and procurement needs

Support MRP reporting and assist with ink buying, part number setup, and vendor setup

Conduct supplier research, negotiate pricing, and evaluate product and vendor performance

Maintain records of inventory, purchase history, costs, and deliveries

Approve invoices and ensure alignment with accounting processes

Coordinate safety supply inventory and vending machines (Wadsworth location)

Assist with R&D product sourcing and Supplier Data Sheet (SDS) updates

Ensure compliance with Lean manufacturing programs and ISO standards

Manage software tools (e.g., Visual) for costing, PO tracking, and inventory
Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience (printing or thermoforming industry a plus)

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working with databases

Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Clear verbal and written communication skills for vendor and team interactions

Demonstrated initiative, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in procurement processes

Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
