Overview of the Senior Accountant position

Senior Accountant opportunity in the Central Jersey Area with a successful, stable and growing company. In this exciting Corporate position, you will play a key role in supporting management and operations with critical accounting information and analytics in order for the company to meet their overall strategic plan.

What will be expected of me as Senior Accountant?

  • Assist the Controller with the month-end close and other accounting functions
  • Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and perform month end reconciliations
  • Analyze accounts and perform reconciliations, setting up new accounts in the GL as needed
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and supported by proper documentation
  • Recommend and implement internal controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide accounting schedules and supporting documentation to the external auditors
  • Collaborate with the IT team regarding system enhancements, ensuring proper data flow
  • Perform special projects as needed

Requirements

What qualifies you for this Senior Accountant position?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • 3 to 7 years of corporate or public accounting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (Pivot tables, v-lookup, financial modeling)
  • Experience preparing or auditing financial statements in accordance with GAAP
