Location: Wall, NJ - Able to work remote 3 days a week

Salary: $90,000.00-$100,000.00

Overview of the Tax Accountant position

Corporate Tax Accountant role with an expanding, privately held company in Monmouth County! The qualified candidate will be responsible for corporate tax compliance and tax research. 3+ years of experience required. CPA preferred. Able to work remote 3 days a week

Responsibilities:

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Prepare tax returns
  • Assist with preparation of income tax returns including all disclosures and required return attachments within jurisdictional deadlines.
  • Includes researching tax law and concluding on appropriate reporting of transactions and business flows and maintenance of all tax attribute schedules by legal entity for the US business units.
  • Support calculation of estimated payment requirements by legal entity, by jurisdiction.
  • Prepare tax return extensions.
• Prepare quarterly tax provisions
  • Prepare quarterly tax provisions consistent with ASC740 including supporting workpapers and analysis and required interaction with external auditors to support the quarterly audit.
  • Prepare quarterly effective tax rate schedules and documentation
  • Tasks are completed in compliance with SOX controls and controls are documented. Includes quarterly reconciliation of balance sheet tax accounts and technical evaluation of appropriate tax accounting calculations and presentation.
  • Track tax attributes and carry forwards.
• Participate in audit defense
  • Prepare IDR responses to tax auditor inquiries for federal and state audits.
  • Respond to notices and information requests from state taxing jurisdictions

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; large CPA firm experience is highly desired
• 3+ years of broad based tax/accounting experience
• Knowledge of tax software desired
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
