Converting Superintendent

PURPOSE: The Converting Superintendent reports to the General Manager and will directly manage the salaried and hourly team members in the Converting department. The successful candidate must have previous tissue converting experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively coordinate and lead the manufacturing operations to ensure the achievement of department objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People
  • Monitor measurement systems to ensure consistency between crews and assist in communicating key performance indicators to the crews
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring assets are adequately maintained with necessary tools, materials, and supplies needed for operation
  • Coordinate maintenance and operational resources on a daily basis and a down day basis
  • Coach/develop/mentor Process Techs and Process Engineers
  • Lead teams through trouble-shooting exercises leading to process stability and improvement
  • Ensure systems are developed, monitored, and sustained to deliver and improve operational excellence
  • Ensure operating standards and processes are developed and adhered to across asset areal
  • Lead manufacturing teams, maintenance teams, process engineers, process techs and suppliers to evaluate and recommend upgrades and design improvements
  • Develop and drive implementation of site initiatives to support multi-year site vision
  • Support Value Stream Manager and other site leaders in determining and directing long range plans, objectives, and activities


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or relevant industry experience
  • 5-10+ years Converting experience in an operations leadership role
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills with experience in leading change
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting up to senior level audiences
  • Ability to influence with and without authority
