- Define and communicate the controls product strategy and roadmap delivering a clear schedule of future product releases that will consistently deliver market leading positioning
- Responsible for value propositions and product, applications and solutions technical sales arguments, materials, tools, literature and manuals, creating a positive leading brand awareness nationally
- Drive internal communications to ensure high levels of controls product knowledge and features across the company
- Complete competitor and customer analysis. Network and research external competitors’ service/product proposition to ensure a comprehensive understanding of what is working in the market. Ensure understanding of customers, trends and requirements. Ensure continual monitoring of the market and competitors in order to accurately position products
- Motivate, direct and ensure alignment across all parts of new product development, from customer to R & D, including local market testing and certification
- Provide technical support services for all controls product, application and system queries related to light commercial equipment.
- Establish controls “champions” within the Business Unit sales and service teams to establish regional controls experts to support internal and external customers.
- Facilitate internal and external customer training on controls product application and installation
- Provide controls project support and develop an ongoing metric of projects, priority and timelines.
- Develop and maintain controls product information and technical documents including Submittal Data Sheets, Guide specs, product bulletins, technical manuals, sales literature, etc.
- Interacts with sales and service teams to develop more user friendly technical documents to better support the sales promotion activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC controls related experience, including troubleshooting and diagnostics of complex control applications
- Minimum 3 years of HVAC Equipment experience as it relates local and open protocol controls
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Master's degree a plus
- Computer network knowledge and experience required
- Experience with open protocol such as BACnet, LonWorks and ModBus and with BAS through these protocols
- VRV/VRF controls and product knowledge a plus
- Experience with competitive analysis of market trends and experience in conducting market research
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Requires above average computer skills with full working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software applications. Auto-Cad experienced a plus
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and architectural blueprints, specifications and HVAC equipment submittal data
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues
