Controls Hardware Engineer

Job Description

Support the design and implementation of fully automated storage and material handling systems including pallet shuttles, conveyors, lifts, and ancillary automation equipment
Partner with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Commissioning teams to support system integration, project execution, and customer installations from concept through handoff
Create schematics and network diagrams, develop controls algorithms and safety systems, and support device communication for pallet conveyance and inspection equipment
Assist with controls hardware design, electrical troubleshooting, commissioning support, risk assessments, simulation support, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities
Contribute to functional specifications, SOPs, manuals, test plans, and mechanical layout drawings related to electrical and controls specifications including cable routing
Work closely with R&D and external vendors while helping optimize automation systems and support product testing initiatives
Ideal candidates will have experience with controls and electrical engineering for custom automation systems, strong troubleshooting abilities, and exposure to PLC/HMI programming platforms such as Beckhoff, Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Rockwell
Experience with automation controls, safety systems, electrical schematics, panel design, CAD software, and ePlan is highly valued
