Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sterling Heights, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems that enhance the efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, control theory, and hands-on experience with automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control System Design & Development: Design and develop control systems for automated machinery and equipment, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.

  • Programming & Configuration: Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and other control devices to automate processes and machinery.

  • System Testing & Validation: Conduct system testing and validation procedures to ensure control systems operate as intended.

  • Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify and resolve issues with control systems, implementing improvements to enhance system performance.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and operation manuals, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and maintenance, to define system requirements and integrate control systems into broader engineering solutions.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in control theory and practices, applying this knowledge to improve existing systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Controls Engineer or in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens), HMI/SCADA systems, VFDs, and control system design software.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Preferred Qualifications:
