Our Portland client is seeking a sharp hybrid Controller to join their growing company. There is a lot of growth opportunity as this is the number one finance and accounting role and reports to a President with an accounting/finance background. You will oversee all accounting and reporting and supervise a small team. This is your chance to work with smart people and be mentored while making an impact. Experience with financial services, real estate investment, or timber is preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost allocation, Investment Accounting, and reconciliations.
• Manage the month-end and year-end accounting close processes.
• Prepare monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare annual budgets and update quarterly financial forecasts.
• Create and maintain policies and procedures for accounting processes and required regulatory compliance areas.
• Supervise audits and tax document preparation.
Qualifications:
• Prior Controller or Accounting Manager experience
• FP&A experience is preferred
• Strong experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
• CPA and prior experience with Big 4 audit firm or high profile national/regional is a plus
• Ability to multi-task and wear many hats
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas both orally and in writing to both internal and external audiences.
