Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO of a premier asset-light based logistics provider
The Controller partners with the leadership team in providing critical insights to the strategy, business plan and financial development of the company. Assesses the company's operational and financial performance and develop scalable systems, processes, and controls to support the business operations and growth. Develops and leads a team in guiding business decisions, through strategic thought leadership and financial analysis. Leads in the continued development of KPIs while working closely with operations leadership and each client to drive critically important analytics and decision making to achieve profitable growth. Identifies the key financial levers and key performance indicators to establish and lead a metrics-driven financial model to measure results and support decision-making most effectively. Directs robust financial planning and analysis activity, to include the monthly and annual planning and forecasting process, while working collaboratively with the corporate management team. Responsible for monthly, yearend closing of the books, audit and timely reporting. Responsible for all financial activities including accounting, billing, credit/collections, document management, payroll, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury, cash flow and working capital management, banking, regulatory reports and risk management.

Background Required:
- Progressive experience in Finance and Accounting within transportation company
- Leadership experience in Finance and Accounting (5 years)
- Track record of building and developing teams
- P&L & Balance Sheet ($ 100+ million revenue)
- Strategy & Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Finance & Treasury
- Payroll, Billing, Credit & Collections
- Tax & Audit
- Cost & cash flow analysis
- Metrics-driven financial planning and analysis skills that drive business decisions.
- Strong business partnering & business acumen skills.
- Growing a logistics or transportation company into larger entity (Organic and Acquisition)
- Mergers and acquisitions (M & A) - due diligence and post integration
- Accounting software (i.e., QuickBooks, Great Plains, etc.)
- Computer Literate: Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Residence: Tampa, FL (Relocation considered)
- Application of technology: i.e. (Dispatch Software, TMS)
- Certifications (CMA, CPA)
- Graduate Education: MBA or Masters (Finance or Accounting)
- Results driven
- Strategic approach to finance and accounting (i.e., utilization of LOC and Tax implications)
- Good communicator at all levels of organization (written, verbal)
- Mentorship of staff and developing talent
- Highly analytical with strategic focus
