Business Manager/Controller – Automotive Dealership
Hollywood, California

A dealership located in North Hollywood seeking an experienced Automotive Business Manager/Controller. As the company’s Business Manager/Controller you will be responsible for the below. The ideal candidate would have at least five to 10 years of automotive business-related experience.

  • Preparing accurate monthly dealership financial statements and submitting them to each manufacturer in accordance with each manufacturer’s guidelines and time frame.
  • Monitoring the company’s financial statements and accounts regularly and informing senior management of developing trends or issues.
  • Reviewing company operations and accounts and suggesting areas of improvement and/or where expenses can be reduced.
  • Providing department managers with timely and accurate financial and management reports.
  • Making sure the dealership and its operations are complaint with government regulations and submitting accurate and timely reports to government agencies as required by law.
  • Keeping up to date with various laws and regulations including but not limited to employment laws, OSHA and tax compliance.
  • Enforcing company policies including policies regarding meal breaks and rest periods and suggesting new policies that will benefit the company.
  • Reviewing vendor contracts and negotiating contracts on behalf of the dealership.
  • · Supervising the reconciliation of general ledger, bank, reserve, factory payable and floor plan accounts.
  • Effectively managing the dealerships’ cash reserves.
  • Supervising the dealerships’ business office personnel, including but not limited to employees responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, DMV registration, payroll, IT and human resources.
  • Coordinating with outside accounting and legal professionals and providing requested information as required.
  • Performing other duties as required.
