Controller
Our client is a $100M+ multi-location manufacturer. The Controller will be a key leader in the finance department, primarily responsible for GL Accounting, financial reporting, treasury and compliance. This role reports directly to the CFO and will manage a team of GL Accountants responsible for the timely, accurate and valid recording of all financial transactions within the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and supervise all GL accounting operations including journal entries and the chart of accounts.
- Oversee and manage the Accounts Payable, Payroll and Fixed Assets processes including managing the A/P-Payroll Manager.
- Responsible for leading month-end close, including the calculation, preparation, and review of journal entries to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare and review the monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Prepare monthly financial review package and present to the CFO.
- Act as the primary liaison with the CPA firm to prepare the company’s annual tax return. Review and file all state and local tax returns prepared by staff.
- Participate in special projects, such as acquisitions, divestitures, etc. as needed.
- Directly supervise and develop accounting staff.
- Work with the CFO to manage and maintain the company’s cash flow planning, reporting and forecasting. Oversee cash management, including timely collections, disbursements and the banking relationship.
- Work with the FP&A Manager to ensure that there are controls in place to safeguard inventories and ensure that inventories are properly valued at month-end.
- Develop and maintain efficient, GAAP-compliant controls, procedures, and standards. Maintain a system of accounting policies and procedures.
Required skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting positions, including at least 5 years in a Controllership level position required.
- Direct, hands-on experience utilizing large scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) in a multi-location environment required.
- A majority of professional financial leadership experience coming in the manufacturing, distribution, logistics or warehousing industries required.
Compensation
- Base salary of up to $175k max.
- Bonus potential of 15%
