Controller

Our client is a local Family Office that manages a large and diverse investment portfolio and other assets. We seek an experienced professional in accounting, administrative, and tax functions supporting the overall financial affairs of a multigenerational family. This role is ideal for a self-directed, highly organized individual with experience in financial administration. The right candidate will have the judgment, professionalism, and ambition to grow into roles of increasing responsibility and expansion to investment management functions over time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial, Accounting & Tax Management
  • Maintain general ledger accounting and reconciliations for family entities and investment vehicles
  • Produce consolidated financial reporting and long-term cash flow forecasts to support tax, estate, and investment planning
  • Administer bill payment processes, recordkeeping, and personal expense tracking for family members and entities
  • Participate in all tax-related activities, including preparation and review of complex individual, trust, and entity returns in collaboration with external tax advisors including preparation of tax projections, basis schedules and coordination of quarterly and annual tax filings and compliance
Family Office Administration
  • Liaise with banks, legal counsel, tax advisors, and other professional service providers
  • Manage family administration, including insurance renewals, vendor relationships
  • Develop and maintain organized systems for document management and compliance tracking
Investment Management
  • Participate in internal processes and support external service providers in maintaining investment performance monitoring systems, statement reporting, and related analyses.
  • Conduct directed analysis in support of asset allocation, assist in evaluation and selection of investment strategies and managers

QUALIICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax advisory, family office, private client services, or related professional services
  • Demonstrated expertise in individual, trust, and entity taxation
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and document management tools
  • Highly ethical, discreet, and committed to exceptional service
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ownership of work product
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to build trust and maintain productive relationships with family members, advisors, and vendors
