Controller

Ferreri Search has been retained by an industry-leading automotive retail organization that is seeking a Dealership Controller. Reporting directly to the President / General Manager, the ideal candidate will be a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the accounting team in all required dealership accounting functions

• Responsible for manufacturer A/R including warranty and rebates

• Oversee cash reporting / treasury, 401k, HR & Benefits, and all insurance coverages

• Review payroll and commission reporting

• Promote best practices & internal controls in each location

• Review for compliance with governmental regulations and company policies

• Train and mentor accounting staff

• Prepare and review monthly dealership financial statements timely

• Prepare and review reports for leadership as needed

• Prepare and review sales tax returns

• Monitor cash and floorplan balances

• Prepare year-end package for CPA firm review

• Work closely with dealer & corporate accounting team

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s in Accounting (required), and prefer a CPA

• 3+ years of experience as a Dealership Controller

• Strong technical skills in accounting

• Dealership ERP experience (CDK experience preferred), and advanced Excel skills

• Must have a great attitude and willingness to learn

• Ability to lead and build a strong accounting team

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced team environment

• Outstanding communication skills written and oral
