Controller
Precise Resource, Inc. is a leading privately held Woman Business Enterprise specializing in Executive Search and HEAD-HUNTING services for Fortune 500 clients across the United States. One of our more prestigious clients has requested our assistance in seeking a Controller.
Our client has over 30 manufacturing and warehousing facilities across the country, including sawmills, concentration yards, and distribution facilities. It uses innovative technologies to streamline the customer procurement process. Our client supplies only sustainable, high-quality hardwoods to protect our resources today and for future generations.
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for providing leadership to ensure all accounting department tasks are performed timely and accurately. We need your expertise to drive process improvements, implement standards, improve and document internal controls, and optimize efficiencies across all areas of accounting. You will lead leads a competent and technical team of five accountants and the AP Manager.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the accounting process.
- Coordinate with operational accounting team members.
- Responsible for the month end closing, including account analysis and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with accounting guidance and best practices.
- Research and implement new accounting guidance, as needed.
- Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
- Be the focal point for the various external audits.
- Identify and drive process improvements.
- Perform risk assessment and implement changes to the internal control structure and processes.
- Participate in special projects.
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years in an accounting leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates initiative, customer focused and ability to collaborate across company functions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to focus on achieving key results.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong aptitude of financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Big 4 experience, preferred
- CPA, preferred
- Some travel required
