Controller

Our Family-owned specialty private label manufacturer is looking for a hands-on Controller to lead a team. This is a leadership role overseeing GL Accounting, financial reporting, FP&A, and payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and benefits.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Manage inventory accounting with an emphasis on tracking and improving inventory aging and valuation accuracy.
• Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analysis to ownership and the leadership team.
• Partner with operations and leadership on cost management, margin analysis, and business planning.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a small accounting team; ensure professional development and accountability.
• Oversee relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
• Support HR functions related to payroll and benefits administration.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives that drive the company’s growth and profitability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in manufacturing or CPG industries with annual revenues of $50M+.
• Expertise in inventory management, costing, and aging analysis.
• Hands-on leader comfortable balancing team management with day-to-day accounting work.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner directly with ownership and cross-functional leaders.
• Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, family-owned company environment.

Compensation:

• $140,000 to $150,000k
