We are seeking a detail-oriented Controller for an organization located in the Sacramento area! This role is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Core duties and responsibilities include:

• Identify, acquire, and implement financial systems and software to enhance efficiency.
• Oversee financial and operational reporting to provide key insights for leadership.
• Lead the finance and accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial data.
• Manage and supervise accounting staff and operations assistants.
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports for properties and ownership entities.
• Approve large payables, sign checks, and authorize large wires and ACH transfers.
• Handle government reporting requirements, including 1099s, 571Ls, SOS filings, and Unclaimed Property.
  
  

Required skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years in financial leadership with the ability to be hands on
• Experience in real estate or property management industry required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Proficiency in Yardi and other accounting software.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is from $130K to $150K, depending on experience.
