Job Description

We are looking for a Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Our client is seeking a Controller to lead core accounting operations and support the continued growth of the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, accounting processes, and internal controls, while partnering closely with leadership to drive operational and strategic improvements. The position is hybrid, with an onsite presence in Downtown Columbus, and offers a clear path for professional growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, month‑end close, and financial reporting
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Lead and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Manage and strengthen internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
  • Partner with finance leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit activities
  • Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting quality
  • Mentor and develop members of the accounting team as the function grows
  • Support system enhancements and accounting best practices as the organization evolves

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior experience in a Controller or Assistant Controller‑level role
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • Experience leading or reviewing work within an accounting team
  • Strong process‑driven mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
