Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CFO for a $1 billion-dollar agricultural company.

The Controller is an operationally focused finance executive that prepares and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of monthly cash flow forecasts and budgets for a $ 250 million dollar P&L. Guides a team and the mission is to use data and reporting to provide economic insights to the agricultural operations group and owners to make accurate business decisions. Prepares accounting entries and performs accounting procedures for quarter close. Maintains timely reconciliation of key GL accounts (Balance Sheet and Income Statement). Analyzes all operating and financial information and recommends and advocates changes to operations which will improve results. Provides all financial and operating information required by internal and external customers for them to successfully accomplish their missions and commitments. Communicates financial and operating performance to appropriate colleagues. Partners with operating colleagues to develop responsible budgets for operations and financial performance. Ensures assets and inventory are maintained and tracked within and among entities. Develops, documents, and maintains financial processes. Ensures all contracts/contractual commitments are made properly between internal and external customers and that processes are in place to assure such results. Maintains and develops effective and economical information systems. Proactively provides information to fellow colleagues in a timely and accurate manner. The challenge is to coordinate the financial direction of the company to reduce costs, improve revenues and increase return on investment.

Background Required:
  • Accounting or finance executive as Controller (5-10 years)
  • Operational accounting & interaction with operations management
  • P&L & balance sheet ($ 100 million revenue)
  • Use financial and KPI reporting to provide rigorous economic analysis
  • Cost reduction & containment programs
  • Established standard operating procedures for financial reporting
  • Computer literate (MS Excel, Vlookup’s, Macros, Pivot Tables, Access)
  • Residence: Fresno, CA (relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Agricultural industry
  • SQL database query language and/or Sage Accpac
  • CPA and/or CFA certification
  • Treasury operations experience
  • Knowledge of Auditing and Tax Compliance
  • Education: BS or BA degree in accounting and/or Finance
