Our client is seeking a Controller to provide governance and enhancements to new and existing accounting policies and oversee financial procedures of their company. The Controller will monitor the company’s financial status, review quarterly and annual budgets and manage the cost accounting function. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with contract accounting and knowledge of construction terminology and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Document, monitor and update accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee Accounts Payable function
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable function
  • Oversee Job Cost posting, reconciliation and reporting process
  • Proved detailed COGS analysis at the macro and micro level
  • Prepare Quarterly KPI Reporting, Profitability by Job and Sales Rep. package to use in sales compensation program.
  • Review quarterly and annual budgets for all departments
  • Analyze costs and profits at the entity and project levels
  • Set and track financial KPIs
  • Provide weekly and monthly cash flow projections to the CFO
  • Oversee and report KPI’s with regards to the company sales commission program
  • Develop an incentive program for Accounting, Admin., and Support resources.
  • Assist in ongoing development and maintenance of front end, and financial ERP systems
  • Oversee and generate monthly operating results package for management and outside audiences to include WIP, Backlog and Pipeline Deep Dive
  • Oversee data archival and storage procedures
  • Perform internal audits and assist with external audits
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations

Requirements

  • 5 + Years Experience in a Controllership, or similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and industry standards
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
  • Experience with cash management and risk assessment
  • QuickBooks experience required, Enterprise Contractor version a plus
  • Working knowledge of WIP, AIA progress billings, and general contract – construction terminology
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-faceted-hybrid business model
  • Ability act as Accounting Ambassador to all departments
  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • High degree of work ethic, and moral compass
  • Ability to adapt processes to a dynamic business model creating or following market trends
