Join a well-established global aerospace and defense manufacturer in Irvine. As Contract Specialist you will administer highly complex contracts, lead risk management reviews, manage the change control process, and serve as a key contributor to new contracting opportunities — all while serving as a senior resource and mentor within the contracts function.
What You'll Do
- Administer major, highly competitive contracts — analyzing delivery schedules, pricing, terms, and performance requirements
- Develop complex proposal packages in response to RFPs; prepare and submit competitive bids
- Negotiate complex contract requirements, change proposals, and pricing within broad scope of responsibility
- Lead contract risk management reviews and make recommendations to mitigate risk
- Manage the change control process in conjunction with Program Management
- Create NDAs and support bid/no-bid decision making for new contracting opportunities
- Investigate and resolve claims and compliance issues; respond to customer, regulatory, and internal inquiries
- Monitor contract performance; manage amendments, extensions, and out-of-scope changes
- Manage order entry, schedule changes, portal management, and Demand Plan creation as part of S&OP
- Train, mentor, and provide leadership to less experienced contracts staff
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- 5+ years of progressive contracts experience with increasing responsibility
- Aerospace industry experience
- Contract management certification required (NCMA or IACCM), unless JD or MBA
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
