General Job Duties

  • Actively support and participate in quality and safety certification systems as well as environment management systems
  • Always maintain proper ergonomics when performing assigned tasks.
  • Lead and support all lean, continuous improvement programs, initiatives and activities.
  • Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work according to 5s
  • Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, PA System and/or phone, business use only.
  • Maintain professionalism when representing the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Led continuous improvement projects to generate savings
  • Develop, design and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
    • Facility Planning/Layout
      • Proficient in AutoCAD
    • Product Flow/Management
    • Process Control
    • Supply Chain Optimization
    • Proficient in Value Stream Mapping
    • 5S Improvements
  • Ensure compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines.
  • Led the deployment of the Lean Manufacturing Philosophy/Strategy
    • Evaluates worker productivity and recommends improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control reductions.
      • Standard Work Implementation
      • Continuous Improvement Activities/Technological Upgrades
        • Lead Kaizen teams
        • Coordinate and led kaizen workshops
      • Cost Reduction Activities
      • Waste Removal (Inventory, Waiting, Defects, Overproduction, Motion, Transportation, Over-processing)
      • Associate Training
      • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
    • Develops metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
      • Production Yield
      • Work Balance/Time Studies
    • Strong Communication and Presentation Skills
    • Proficient in KPI Development

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years’ experience in a related field
  • Engineering discipline preferred
