Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP Operations for a leading food ingredient company, the CI Manager is a key member of the management team identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities. Develops and implements best business practices and institutionalizes throughout the organization; pilots new processes and extends to all locations as needed. Leads and drives business improvement within operations and supporting functions, identifies opportunities, captures data, develops solutions, manages projects, coordinating with operation. Implements continuous improvement meeting milestones. Collaborates across functions to ensure consistent implementation of new, improved processes. Establishes and monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and reports updates to stakeholders and management. Develops effective influential relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring proposals are commercially and financially viable. Promotes the transformation of a reactive organizational culture to proactive utilizing data driven decision-making and giving priority to preventative actions. Trains and educates the organization and implements continuous improvement methodologies including Six Sigma, 5S, Lean, OEE, etc. Ensures deliverables support the 4 – P’s (People, Products, Profitability, and Planet). Reviews business processes to enhance effectiveness and benchmark against Industry Best Practices.

Background Required:
  • Manufacturing and Operations (5 years)
  • KPI, OEE, standards and costing practices
  • Demonstrated results using Six Sigma, 5S, Lean, OEE or other CI techniques
  • Understanding of operations and impact of vertical integration
  • Mathematical Skills: General Arithmetic/Basic Algebra/Percentages/Fractions/Statistics
  • Advanced Excel and Access knowledge and other Microsoft Office Suite products including financial modeling
  • Education: BS/BA in manufacturing, engineering, other technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Travel: 20%
  • Residence: NW IA (Relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Food Manufacturing
  • Managerial experience with progressive levels of responsibility
  • Experience with many manufacturing areas (accounting, manufacturing, logistics)
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
