Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace New York (Corona, Queens) has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Lean Facilitator. Reporting to the Director of Continuous Improvement, the purpose of this position is to support and lead improvement initiatives through various departments. Activities additionally include internal auditing; facilitating continuous improvement workshops across the New York facilities; and supporting the Magellan Lean Six Sigma Blue and Green Belt program.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Analyze current state to effect performance improvements in the areas of Quality and Delivery, the Environment, and makes recommendations
  • Lead in the establishment, implementation and maintenance of the Magellan lean six sigma program to effect improvement in Magellan’s performance
  • Lead continuous improvement events across the Division
  • Support 6S implementation and audit program and performs verification 6S audits

Position Requirements

  • Training and knowledge/skills in Lean and Six Sigma methodology an asset
  • Quality Management Systems or Environmental Management Systems training would be considered an asset
  • Leadership/Coaching skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge/skills in Project Management
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills, sense of urgency & interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge using various MS Office applications
  • Previous experience in auditing would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience in the aerospace industry would be considered an asset
