Construction Site Project Manager


Salary Range:$95,000.00 - $120,000.00

Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Operations for a world-wide leader specializing in transport and logistics as well as heavy-lift transport, heavy lifting and related engineering and door-to-door project cargo shipping for the civil, offshore, power and petrochemical industries.
The Construction Site Project Manager is responsible for managing on-site customer projects once awarded regarding safety, schedule, profit and customer satisfaction. Will work closely with project team to develop and maintain an overall project schedule. Participate in customer site visits, proposal development and contract development/reviews to ensure complete understanding of scope, contractual obligations and risk of jobs. Work with internal leadership team before / during project development; take the project from sales through development into execution; maintain communication with internal / external customers over the course of the project, and document changes that affect the job scope, schedule, or budget agreement. Interact with customers, engineers, vendors, suppliers, and others throughout the design, planning and execution phase of the project. Work closely with project team to develop and maintain an overall project schedule. Show critical path items and anticipate problematic issues. Responsible to foresee typical issues that historically challenge schedules, construction, and impact project costs. Identify these issues and work with project team to develop solutions to overcome potential problem areas. Responsible to regularly and accurately communicate the project status, including schedule, financial status, risk assessment, quality, safety and other key areas. Responsible for coordinating work crews and scheduling required equipment.

Background Required:
  • Project Management in Heavy Industrial Construction (7 years)
  • Estimates, proposals & contracts
  • Interface between customer, vendors, sub-contractors, etc.
  • Engineering drawings & blueprints (reading / interpreting)
  • Personnel Management
  • Ability to travel extensively both nationally / internationally and for extended periods of time
  • Education: College degree (i.e. Engineering discipline)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Residence: Houston, TX
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Heavy lift (i.e. Cranes, Strand Jacks, Gantry’s)
  • Specialized transport (i.e. SPMT, SPT, Goldhofer, Conventional Trailers)
  • Knowledge of AUTOCAD, Primavera, Microsoft Project software
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
