Position Overview

Based in Edmonton, AB, the Construction Senior Superintendent will lead large-scale commercial construction projects, overseeing all field and site operations from groundbreaking through to completion. This senior leadership role drives safety, quality, productivity, and profitability while mentoring field teams and delivering exceptional results for clients and stakeholders.​

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive field operations on major commercial projects, managing all site activities to ensure safe, clean, organized, and high-performing execution.
• Oversee production systems, design adherence, budgets, schedules, subtrade performance, and site profitability with a focus on optimization and waste reduction.
• Direct crews and mentor Superintendents, Field Engineers, and Foremen; identify training needs and champion apprenticeship programs.
• Monitor budgets and forecasts rigorously, optimizing resources, resolving issues proactively, and maximizing field efficiencies.
• Enforce safety protocols, lead quality testing to meet specifications, and develop master plans and schedules for complex builds.
• Serve as the primary on-site client liaison, maintaining strong relationships and driving results that exceed expectations.​

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• Minimum 10 years of commercial construction experience as a Superintendent with a general contractor.
• Experience with milestone alignment, pre-construction support, and proposal contributions.
• Journeyman trade certification.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and manage complex projects on time and on budget.
• Advanced understanding of LEAN construction principles applied in field operations.
• Technical diploma and/or Gold Seal certification.
• CSTS 2020 certification.
• Willingness to travel to required worksites in the Edmonton region and beyond.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

• Leadership training and safety certificates.
• Infection Control Certification for sensitive environments.
