Position Title: Construction Operations Manager

The Opportunity

This is a high‑impact leadership role at a full‑service commercial construction contractor known for quality, long‑term customer relationships, and repeat business. The Construction Operations Manager will step into a mission‑critical seat overseeing project managers, materials and purchasing, CAD, warehouse, fabrication, and indirectly a large field workforce.

The individual in this role will be the organizational force that aligns people, process, quality, and execution. They will directly influence the performance of a major construction division with full P&L responsibility, driving project success, operational efficiency, and field engagement.

The organization is seeking a leader who enhances systems, grows people, and elevates the culture — someone who operates not through command‑and‑control, but as a servant‑minded coach who inspires high performance. This is a rare opportunity to reshape an operation, strengthen a proud team of tradespeople, and build the next generation of leaders internally.

The Company

The company is a full‑service mechanical construction organization that performs all major functions in‑house, including fabrication, building automation, service/startup, and testing and balancing. This structure eliminates reliance on outside vendors, accelerates project execution, and provides smoother coordination between field teams, project managers, and operational units.

The culture strongly favors internal advancement. Many employees start in the field or apprenticeship programs and grow into mechanics, lead mechanics, foremen, and project managers over time. The company places a high value on craftsmanship, quality work, long‑term partnerships, and doing things right the first time.

The Boss

This role reports directly to the company President — a leader who began in the field at a young age, earned a degree in mechanical engineering, spent years in equipment and controls sales, and has spent most of his professional life connected to the organization.

His leadership style is grounded, practical, and deeply respectful of the trades. He prioritizes:

  • Coaching and people development
  • Strong communication
  • Quality craftsmanship
  • Servant leadership
  • A culture of empathy, humility, and accountability

The selected candidate will report to an executive who understands the work firsthand and is committed to supporting a leader capable of motivating and guiding diverse teams.

The Position

The Construction Operations Manager oversees all construction‑related operations and ensures alignment across field operations, project management, warehouse, CAD, materials, and fabrication. Responsibilities include:

  • Direct oversight of Project Managers (three total)
  • Direct oversight of purchasing/materials, CAD, warehouse, and fabrication
  • Indirect oversight of a large field workforce through Project Managers
  • Full P&L responsibility for the construction division

This leader will be responsible for communication flow, operational efficiency, project quality, and the long‑term development of both office and field personnel.
