Job Description

Our client, a commercial and industrial roofing contractor located in the Charlotte area, has an immediate opening for a Construction Operations Manager.

Duties Include:

  • Provide leadership and support to drive profitable sales and results in operations through analysis, design and implementation.
  • Develop and implement methods and systems to control operating costs.
  • Communicate job requirements to the superintendents and support staff responsible for the job. Outline specific tasks required to complete each job.
  • Ensure that regular communication occurs with all departments to keep them current on expectations and information. Conduct regular meetings and discussions to optimize learning.
  • Ensure that safe work practices are adhered to at the job site. Ensure that all job sites are in compliance with federal and state OSHA standards.
  • Review, as appropriate, estimates for materials, equipment, etc. to provide a reasonableness test for bids submitted.
  • Support the sales staff as needed .
  • Set clear goals for field management and measure results.
  • Manage personnel, cost and quality.
  • Evaluate and monitor company financials.
  • Inspect all jobs on an ongoing basis to ensure that the work completed is in compliance with contract, government, manufacturer, insurance, and bonding specification
  • Drive achievement of revenue and growth goals by focusing on sales methodology.
  • Set goals and develop sales and marketing strategy as part of strategic planning process.
  • Ensure that the overall marketing and sales efforts are integrated with the Business Development, Operations and Estimating processes.
  • Build relationships with key functional leaders to ensure business development is connected to the business.
  • Review, as appropriate, estimates for materials, equipment, etc. to provide a reasonableness test for bids submitted.
  • Manage the resolution and escalation of issues that arise through the pursuit of opportunities.
  • Proactively meet with customers on regularly basis post-award to ensure customer satisfaction at all levels.
  • Makes sales calls and cold calls with pursuit team to establish executive level presence, build understanding of customer and sales issues and confirm and develop the sales competencies.
  • Confirm that market specific sales and marketing plans are consistent with overall business goals.
  • Regularly evaluate the potential sales opportunities in the short and long term against strategic goals.
  • Analyze and provide strategic recommendations to marketing and sales plans for market sectors, including concepts such as opportunity map, target accounts, forecast, sales strategies and tactics.

Salary of $ 90K to $110 K depending on experience.
