An established AV-rated litigation defense firm with more than 25 years of success in Texas is seeking an experienced Construction Defect Litigation Associate to join its growing practice.

The firm is expanding its search beyond Houston and is now considering attorneys in Houston, San Antonio, and other Texas locations, with hybrid and fully remote opportunities available based on experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator who wants the autonomy to manage their own cases while still having access to seasoned trial attorneys, strong legal support, and sophisticated litigation matters.

What You'll Do

• Independently manage a litigation docket from inception through resolution
• Handle construction defect and related civil litigation matters in Texas state and federal courts
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, dispositive motions, and other substantive legal documents
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings
• Communicate directly with clients and insurance carriers and provide regular case updates
• Evaluate claims and develop litigation and resolution strategies
• Work alongside experienced partners on complex matters
• Collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff to efficiently move cases toward resolution

What We're Looking For

• J.D. and active Texas Bar license
• 3–5+ years of civil litigation experience
• Construction defect litigation experience strongly preferred
• Insurance defense, general liability, commercial litigation, or other relevant civil defense experience will also be considered
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a busy litigation docket
• Experience practicing in Texas state courts
• Federal Court admission (USDC) preferred but not required
• Experience with or exposure to arbitration proceedings preferred
• Strong deposition, legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and client communication skills
• Professional, collaborative, and self-motivated work style

Location & Work Flexibility

The firm offers increased flexibility for experienced attorneys who have demonstrated the ability to independently manage litigation matters.

Houston or San Antonio: Attorneys may work from either office, with the potential for a hybrid or work-from-home arrangement following onboarding.

Outside Houston/San Antonio: Experienced Texas-licensed litigators may be considered for a fully remote arrangement from the start, with onboarding and ongoing collaboration conducted primarily through Microsoft Teams.

Remote and hybrid arrangements will be evaluated based on litigation experience, ability to independently manage a docket, and overall fit.
