Component Reliability Engineer – Semiconductor Electronics

Compensation: $145,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year, plus bonus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define component quality, reliability, and test requirements that align with company and industry standards.
  • Participate in internal design reviews, providing expert evaluations on electronic components to meet project objectives.
  • Review and optimize component reliability qualification programs and processes to ensure robustness and compliance.
  • Develop comprehensive component qualification plans adhering to standards such as AEC-Q100/101/200, JEDEC, and MIL-STD.
  • Address and resolve critical supplier-related quality issues, ensuring continuous supply of high-quality components.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of component failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to mitigate recurrence.
  • Drive reliability and risk assessment activities based on data from production lines and field returns.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineering through rigorous Fab and assembly site audits to maintain and enhance supplier performance.
  • Represent the company in industry committees, playing a pivotal role in the update and review of technological and safety standards.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in reliability engineering and failure analysis for semiconductor-based electronics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in reliability engineering within a semiconductor environment.
  • Deep familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes, various fabrication technologies, and package assemblies.
  • Hands-on experience with failure analysis tools and techniques such as SEM, TEM, FIB, and acoustic microscopy.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of IC block circuit analysis and basic semiconductor physics.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry. A Master's degree is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills in reliability stress tests and models for aging calculations.
  • Proven ability to use Quality Risk Management Tools effectively, including Ishikawa, FMEA, FTA, 8D, and statistical analysis.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a firm grasp of statistical analysis methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Capability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using industry-standard software and tools related to electronic component testing and quality assurance.
  • Detailed-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying risks and executing timely solutions.
