Compliance and Risk Officer – Overdraft Programs

Our client is looking for a seasoned Compliance and Risk Officer to be the voice of regulatory clarity for our clients—banks and credit unions navigating the complex world of overdraft program compliance.

This role is ideal for someone who loves regulations, thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, and is excited to take center stage as a subject matter expert in a high-visibility product space.

💼 What You’ll Do

✅ Ensure Compliance

  • Review and approve client-facing materials for regulatory compliance (CFPB, FDIC, NCUA, OCC, etc.)
  • Monitor changes from regulatory bodies (CFPB, FDIC, NCUA, OCC, FFIEC) and provide timely updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Translate complex regs into clear, actionable guidance for clients and internal teams

🧠 Be the SME

  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes (especially overdraft-related)
  • Write compliance updates, newsletters, and white papers
  • Lead webinars, conference sessions, and client trainings

📞 Support Clients

  • Serve as the go-to for compliance questions
  • Assist with regulatory exams and audits related to overdraft programs
  • Support our compliance guarantee with confidence and clarity

📝 Keep Us Aligned

  • Maintain up-to-date compliance documentation
  • Support internal teams with up-to-date compliance knowledge, ensuring alignment across departments.

👤 What We’re Looking For

  • 10–20 years of banking compliance experience
  • Background at a regulatory agency (FDIC, OCC, CFPB, FFIEC) strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of overdraft regulations—especially CFPB guidance & state-specific rules
  • Strong writing/editing skills (you’ll be publishing under our name)
  • Comfortable speaking at events, webinars, and client trainings
  • Passionate about making regulations digestible and actionable
  • Located in Eastern/Central time zones (preferred for team/client alignment)
