Compensation Relationship Manager

Length of Contract: 12 months (possibility of an extension and/or conversion to perm)
Working Location: Toronto

Team Overview:

  • Non-executive compensation solutions for every department throughout the bank except for CM & GAM, Personal wealth
  • Employee compensation team under Compensation and Performance Mgt, under Performance, Rewards and Operations under HR (People and Culture)
  • Looks after all compensation needs for all lines of business they are supporting
  • Designing compensation solutions, includes sales incentive plan design

Role Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver compensation solutions and advice as a subject matter expert
  • Manage stakeholder relationships (business leaders, HR Partners, other COEs)
  • Needs assessment, prioritization of deliverables, presenting solutions, effective challenge
  • Business acumen – independently able to understand business issue, determine approaches to solve for their problem (research required, data sources needs, numerical analysis, stakeholder identification like ER, Finance) and execute on approaches
  • Identify impacts of solutions to other areas of HR and collaborate to address any impacts
  • Work with various members of the team to ensure that the project is being completed
  • Very project oriented, and also involves ad hoc compensation requests

Must-Have Skills:

  • Compensation experience (including salary surveys, statistical analysis) – 7-10 years
  • Relationship management - 3+ years
  • Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, functions) and PowerPoint skills
  • Project management mindset used to manage multiple deliverable
  • Be able to research, analyze and look into ways to improve solution
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends and translate this into business solutions, as well as present the solution in a consumable way


  • Sales incentive/direct drive compensation design skills
  • FI experience

Educational Requirements:

  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) certification
  • CHRL
  • CHRP
