Compensation Manager

Novacoast Staffing is assisting an Enterprise-Sized client in their search for a Compensation Manager. This full-time, direct-hire role is hybrid. You must live in California and be able to drive to Westlake Village 2-3 times per month for onsite visits.
The Compensation Manager is a strategic, hands-on role that provides an opportunity to manage all enterprise compensation programs and processes. You will work closely with departmental and cross-functional business partners to ensure enterprise-wide alignment with compensation philosophies, all aspects of pay, and incentive plans. Currently, this organization utilizes Excel to manage its compensation program, so high proficiency in Excel is required.
Reporting to Sr. Manager, Total Rewards, our Compensation Manager must be a forward-thinker who can articulate a clear strategy and vision across all enterprise-wide programs to accelerate our compensation offerings and advance the organization's position as an employer of choice. Through understanding their current processes you must also bring a desire to take them to the next level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement competitive compensation programs that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend cost-effective changes consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
- Provide advice to management on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
- Design creative solutions for specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
- Develop techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data, utilizing Microsoft Excel proficiently.
- Administer compensation programs per internal policies and government regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on compensation trends and best practices, including knowledge of Total rewards.
- Manage and oversee the bonus plan process and executive compensation.
- Evaluate jobs and benchmarks and review internal and external equity job offers.
- Participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze salary information to determine the company's competitive positions.
- Review and make recommendations to compensation policies and processes.
- Serve as a compensation advisor to management throughout the Enterprise.
- Ensure company compliance with existing legal employment requirements (EEO, FLSA, wage-hour) -- both individually and through communication and training of department and location managers -- and local compensation laws.
- Supervise and manage support personnel within the compensation team related to all projects or related work, establish performance requirements, clarify responsibilities of those supervised, conduct performance appraisals, and plan individual employee improvement.

Minimum Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in compensation management
- 3+ years of experience with analysis, plan design, and administration of comp.
- 3+ years of experience administration with multi-level compensation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Experience in retail or hospitality industries is a plus.
Salary Range: $110K-$140K annually
