Communication Officer
Job Description
The Communications Officer is responsible for managing MOBA’s internal and external communications to ensure consistent messaging, strong brand presence, and effective engagement with alumni, partners, media, and the public.
Key Responsibilities
Communications Strategy & Content Development
- Develop and implement an integrated communications strategy aligned with MOBA’s vision and objectives.
- Create high-quality content for newsletters, announcements, reports, and digital platforms.
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand standards across all communication channels.
Media & Public Relations
- Manage media relations, press releases, and official public statements.
- Coordinate interviews, media engagements, and public appearances.
- Monitor media coverage and manage MOBA’s public image and reputation.
Digital & Social Media Management
- Manage and regularly update MOBA’s website and social media platforms.
- Develop digital campaigns to promote events, projects, and fundraising initiatives.
- Track engagement metrics and prepare communication performance reports.
Internal Communications & Documentation
- Support internal communications within the Secretariat and governance bodies.
- Document events, meetings, and activities through reports, photos, and videos.
- Maintain a digital archive of communication materials.
Support to Fundraising & Projects
- Support communication for fundraising campaigns and donor engagement.
- Collaborate with project teams to communicate milestones and impact stories.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ professional communications experience.
- Strong writing, storytelling, digital media, social media and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Being a MOBA is an added advantage.
