This role will be responsible for

  • Managing day-to-day operations across eight grain elevators (7 truck and 1 rail shuttle loading facility)
  • Leading and developing a team of originators, merchandisers, and grain accounting professionals
  • Overseeing grain logistics and quality to ensure operational efficiency
  • Building and maintaining key relationships with farmers, end users, and transportation partners
  • Driving strategic planning efforts to grow market share and profitability

Expectations will include

  • Supervising, mentoring, and scheduling staff to meet operational goals
  • Responding to and resolving customer inquiries, fostering long-term relationships
  • Overseeing financial planning, including budgeting and contract negotiation
  • Managing risk in both cash and futures markets to optimize profitability
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to align divisional performance with organizational objectives

A qualified candidate will possess the following

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field
  • 7–10 years of experience in grain trading (cash, truck, and rail)
  • Proven leadership in managing operations and cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and operational locations

Compensation: $135,000 + bonus
