We’re looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our growing team as a Commissions Analyst. The new role will work as part of a fun and engaging team that ensures quality management of commissions for the broker sales channel.. This position will allow the individual to regularly interact with many areas including Sales, Contracts, Billing, Legal, Accounts Receivable Management, Accounts Payable, Finance, IT, and Customer Service, as well as external parties.
The Commissions Analyst is responsible for the accurate setup, calculation, validation, and reporting of commissions for a large and diverse Channel Partner network. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work with large and complex data sets, and a proactive approach to process improvement and issue resolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Channel Partner & Data Management
- Set up and maintain Channel Partner information, including market licenses and banking details.
- Analyze, maintain, and validate commission data across internal systems, including contract and billing platforms.
- Work confidently with large data sets to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Commission Processing
- Calculate monthly commissions and prepare detailed commission statements for a large Channel Partner base.
- Perform data quality checks on both input data and commission calculation results.
- Complete recurring and ad hoc manual tasks for processes not yet automated.
Issue Resolution & Support
- Research, respond to, and resolve commission‑related inquiries from internal Sales teams and external Channel Partners.
- Identify, document, and follow up on data or system issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Support ad hoc reporting, analysis, and project requests as needed.
Process Improvement & Audits
- Develop and refine processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce the risk of error.
- Perform recurring audits of commissions and reconcile internal data to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with IT to support automation initiatives and test system enhancements.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, Billing, Legal, IT, and other internal teams.
- Assist with additional projects as assigned by Management.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Will consider 1-5 years of experience
- Retail energy industry experience is a plus
- Strong Excel knowledge
- Basic understanding of database concepts
- Manipulation of data and reports is preferred
- SQL Proficiency-understanding of database set ups
- Ability to handle multiple Microsoft Outlook mailboxes
- Understanding of business needs for analyst availability during commission cycles
- Capacity for troubleshooting data related system issues using logical problem-solving methods and process of elimination.
- Strong desire and ability to learn new systems and processes
