Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Commercial Title Reader to join our team in New York. This position plays a critical role in reviewing and analyzing complex commercial title documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of title insurance and real estate law, as well as experience with commercial real estate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and examine title reports and commitments for commercial real estate transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze legal documents, including deeds, mortgages, and leases, to identify potential title defects or issues that could affect the transaction.
• Work closely with underwriters, attorneys, and other stakeholders to resolve title-related issues and ensure smooth closings.
• Prepare and draft title exception reports, outlining any issues or concerns that may impact the title.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients, underwriters, and other parties involved in the transaction.
• Stay current on relevant real estate laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Maintain organized records of title documents and related correspondence.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in title reading, title examination, or commercial real estate transactions preferred.
• Strong understanding of New York state title laws and commercial real estate practices.
• Ability to analyze complex legal documents and identify potential issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in title software systems (e.g., SoftPro, RamQuest) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in a related field is a plus.
